This is the first day out in downtown atlanta. We had settled down into the youth hostel along the ponce de leon street which is a few stations away from the downtown by subway. We went to the underground shopping center which is packed with people doing the shopping. There are apparels, gifts, shoes and other stuff on sales. The goods are not really cheap but there are good deals like shoes going for half price. The place really have a rustic feel to is because the building used to be an old train station. The have renovated the place to make it into an underground shopping center. That is where the name comes about. After checking out the shops, I decided to venture out to the streets to have a look around the city above ground. A group of us walked towards the CNN building which is located a few blocks away. The CNN in atlanta is the headquarters for the network broadcaster. The building houses the offices, gift shop and also a hotel over looking the city. The skyline is real nice from the hotel as we can look over the centennial olympic park and the stadium. This is were the 1996 olympic was held and the event was broadcasted throughout the world thru CNN.
